No, I’m not stating my opinion, this perfume really is called The Sexiest Scent on the Planet. Ever. (IMHO). The name comes from a journalist who declared 4160 Tuesdays’ creation ‘the sexiest scent ever’ when they smelled it. I may not share the exact sentiment, but there’s certainly something sensual and inviting about this fragrance. Continue reading
Evokes the seaside in (buckets and) spades.
Autumn is here, and if you’re already missing those relaxing sunshine-filled days of summer then 4160Tuesdays may just have an olfactory cure. Inspired by a good old-fashioned British holiday, What I Did On My Holidays evokes childhood memories of ice creams on the beach, strolls along the sea front and the flashing lights of the amusement arcades. Combining sweetness and mystery.
Just by looking at Ghost’s Deep Night bottle you know that the perfume inside is going to be unique and mysterious. With vanilla-scented night-blooming cereus and rose in the top, the opening is a sweet and fresh floral. Personally, I cannot distinctly identify the rose – instead I get a heavy and sensually sweet vanilla with just a touch of delicate floral. In the heart, apricot, peach, and white wood come together and provide a continuation of the warmth of the top notes. They also lift the scent’s impression, tempering the sweetness by adding an element of rich and fruity freshness. The white wood also contributes to this, providing depth and smokiness to the fragrance. Continue reading
A decadent cherry delight.
A gift for Valentine’s Day, La Petite Robe Noire is my first Guerlain fragrance, and none of their other perfumes have delighted my nose as much as this one. When I first spritzed it on the skin an unfamiliar note of black cherry was released, one which I found to be more pleasing on the nose compared to other fruit notes – it’s less of a fresh smell, and more of a sensual one. Berries and almonds follow closely behind, respectively adding hints of bounciness and sweet creaminess. Continue reading
Fresh, fruity & flirty.
A much lighter alternative to its counterpart, Oh Lola! is a flirty fragrance that’s great for livening up a dull day. Having smelt the original Lola fragrance, Oh Lola! was instantly preferable to me. Delightful top notes of raspberry and pear provide a vibrant opening that reminds me a beautiful summer’s day. I don’t normally like fruity fragrances, but this one is really fresh and not overpoweringly sickly sweet. Continue reading
Sexy, sultry and sophisticated.
Lust from Gorilla Perfume is a strong, seductive fragrance, most definitely one for the evening. When you first smell it then it may seem a little overwhelming, but give it time and it will gently develop into a smooth, sexy scent; one that envelops you in a layer of sultry sophistication. Whilst the smell is undeniably feminine, it’s also incredibly sensual. It’s sweet, yet musky; pretty, yet naughty, and deeply mysterious. If you want a perfume to complete your sexy evening look then this is undoubtedly the one to go for. Continue reading
The beginning of a love story.
Last year I received a bottle of Gorilla Perfume‘s 25:43 for Valentine’s Day and instantly loved it. It’s since become my undoubted favourite perfume, one that I believe every girl should experience at least once in their lifetime. Though it sounds like a simple scent – lemony freshness layered with sweet toffee – there is so much more to this divine perfume. Continue reading
