No, I’m not stating my opinion, this perfume really is called The Sexiest Scent on the Planet. Ever. (IMHO). The name comes from a journalist who declared 4160 Tuesdays’ creation ‘the sexiest scent ever’ when they smelled it. I may not share the exact sentiment, but there’s certainly something sensual and inviting about this fragrance. Continue reading
Blooms of warmth nestled amongst enchanting greenery.
One of four perfumes from Friedemodin’s debut Jardin Mystique collection, Jardin Mystique is a green floral fragrance that aims to conjure up the sensory experience of a wild enchanted garden. A sparkling fruit note is what greeted me when I first smelled it. Like crushed blackcurrants, it’s mouth-wateringly juicy and fresh, with just a touch of woodiness. Quickly however, this juicy cassis note is fused with a slight bitterness from citrusy bergamot and an herbaceous touch of freshly cut grass. Continue reading
Sarabecca Natural Perfumes is a perfumery that craft fragrances entirely from natural oils and essences. Created by Kenneth Grand after nearly four years of hard work, Sarabecca’s two fragrances – Sarabecca Day and Sarabecca Night – are unique and sophisticated. Here we review them both. Evokes the seaside in (buckets and) spades.
Autumn is here, and if you’re already missing those relaxing sunshine-filled days of summer then 4160Tuesdays may just have an olfactory cure. Inspired by a good old-fashioned British holiday, What I Did On My Holidays evokes childhood memories of ice creams on the beach, strolls along the sea front and the flashing lights of the amusement arcades. Debonair with a dirty edge.
Elegance and style abound in this popular men’s fragrance, even down to the classically styled bottle. When first applied, the herby and subtly sweet top notes of bergamot, coriander, mandarin and lychee combine to create a clean and modern impression. Continue reading
Hallelujah – oodles of honey scented bubbles!
If you’ve ever tried LUSH’s famous ‘Honey I Washed The Kids’ soap, a luscious toffee and honey scented treat, then this shower gel will feel very familiar. ‘It’s Raining Men’ is a silky, golden coloured gel packed with honey, lotus flower, tiger lily and orange blossom – a sweet and rich concoction. This sensual and sticky-sweet mix is tempered with a subtle hint of bergamot which makes the scent fresh as well as decadent. Continue reading
Mysterious and complex sensuality.
Ricci Ricci was the first perfume that I bought to wear exclusively in the evening. Unlike Nina L’Elixir, another Nina Ricci favourite of mine, Ricci Ricci is a far more sensual fragrance compared to its lighter cousin. Slightly less girly, but still undeniably feminine, Ricci Ricci combines rich fruit with oriental flowers and delightful woods, and is undoubtedly one of my favourite fragrances. Continue reading
A punch of sweet, complex femininity.
If I had the choice of wearing only one perfume for the rest of my life, Viktor and Rolf’s Flowerbomb would be it. An inspired birthday gift from Gemma, I’ve been using it on special occasions for around seven months and only now starting to run low – it is definitely a fragrance to be savoured. Continue reading
