Barry M ‘Satsuma’ Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint

Barry M Satsuma Nail Paint

Gorgeously glossy coral colour.

I used Barry M nail polishes throughout my teenage years but became a little bit of a polish snob after discovering more expensive brands such as nails inc. and MAC. However, I recently decided to try Barry M’s amazing range again after their bright colours caught my eye and have now found my nail colour for the summer thanks to their Gelly Hi-Shine collection!

Part of their nail effects range, Barry M’s Gelly Hi-Shines promise an extra glossy finish to your manicure. There’s a wide spectrum of colours from summery brights to darker and more wintry shades, but the one that stood out to me most was Satsuma. Whilst it appears to be an orangey red in the bottle, on the nail it’s more of a bright and intense coral colour – perfect for both summer days and nights. In the sun it shines a beautifully deep orange colour, whereas in the evening it looks closer to red.

The polish certainly delivers a glossy finish and there’s no need for a top coat aside from minimising the risk of chipping. Nevertheless my nails remained chip-free for three days with only a minor chip occurring on one nail. It was only after a week that the majority of them were noticeably chipped – so impressive for a polish that’s only £3.99! The only issue I found with this varnish was that it bubbled slightly on a couple of my nails, although that may be due to my manner of application rather than the polish itself. It can also become a little gloopy at times too, but that can be rectified with a quick shake of the bottle.

Aside from the minor issues I’m really impressed with this polish and I can’t wait to re-explore the whole Barry M range. Gelly Hi-Shine Satsuma is a bright pop of summery colour with a gorgeously glossy shine – a must-have for the season!
