A perfect pampering product!
If, like me, your exams have just finished, then you’ll be well overdue for some pampering! My stack of used LUSH pots has been gradually growing on my dressing table for the past few months so I decided to take five of them to my local LUSH store to exchange them for one of their wonderful fresh face masks. If you don’t already know, LUSH has a fantastic offer whereby you get a free fresh face mask (that usually costs £5.95) in exchange for returning five of their black pots clean and ready to be recycled into new ones.
Aside from its intriguing green colour, a result of its seaweed gel base, the first thing I noticed about Love Lettuce was its wonderful smell. The aroma of French lavender fills your nose as you apply the mask – it’s a simple fragrance, but nonetheless one that’s delightful, and a welcome alternative to other synthetic smelling high street face masks. The smell definitely isn’t the best thing about this product though; ground almonds and almond shells gently exfoliate the skin when you wash the mask off. It’s coarse enough to give a satisfying scrub without irritating the skin, and is an excellent face mask to use if your complexion needs brightening up.
Love Lettuce also contains something called ‘fullers earth’, an ingredient consisting of a number of clays which is meant to absorb grease and debris, and also tighten the skin. My skin didn’t really feel any tighter after using the product, but the fullers earth definitely absorbed some of the grease, particularly in my t-zone. Honey and almond oil also feature, and they left my skin feeling nicely moisturised, but not at all greasy.
All in all, a great smelling face mask, that exfoliates, moisturises, and leaves you with gorgeously smooth skin and a brighter complexion! Perfect for a lazy day of pampering!
