This week it was announced that ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ by New York Times best-selling author John Green, which is currently being adapted to film, has acquired a director. Josh Boone, who recently made his directorial debut, has stated that: “I feel the weight and responsibility to get this right and give his readers and devoted fans as pure a translation as possible … We hope to create a little infinity within this film that fans can revisit over and over.”
‘The Fault in Our Stars’ is a beautiful and eloquent exploration of love, illness, death and youth. A book that had us in tears more than once, this is one Young Adult novel which redefines the genre. The plot centres around two teenagers suffering from cancer who meet at a support group and proceed to fall into a kind of love that is always aware of its destructive power. The film will be produced by the people behind the ‘Twilight’ Saga, Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen, and is reportedly beginning production this summer. We are incredibly excited to find out that this project will be going ahead and can’t wait to see the filmic version of one of the truest love stories we’ve read in recent years.
